Women from Egypt and Russia: We learned from Abdullah Öcalan that freedom cannot be relinquished 2026-02-16 13:14:35     NEWS CENTRE - Women from Russia and Egypt speaking about the international conspiracy against Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan stated that the conspiracy had failed, adding that they had learned that Abdullah Öcalan's ideas transcended place, time, and borders, and that freedom would never be relinquished.   The international conspiracy against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan has now been ongoing for 27 years. As a result of Abdullah Öcalan's 28-year resistance on Imrali, the conspiracy was thwarted, while his ideas and the paradigm he built took the world by storm. This year, people took to the streets in protest against the conspiracy, primarily in Kurdistan but also around the world, demanding his physical freedom.   Women from Egypt and Russia also spoke to JINNEWS about the conspiracy, commenting on the impact Abdullah Öcalan has had on the people.   'The conspiracy failed'   Speaking on the anniversary of the conspiracy, Egyptian political scientist Dr. Fernaz Attia stated that Abdullah Öcalan has been arbitrarily and unjustly held on Imrali Island for 27 years, adding, "Today, I can say with certainty that the international conspiracy to isolate Abdullah Öcalan has failed. Despite being physically imprisoned, his ideas have not been isolated from the Kurds, the Middle East, or the world. Not only with his ideas, but Abdullah Öcalan has also put forward important peace initiatives that affect the stability and peace process in the Middle East, especially regarding brotherhood between Kurds and Turks. This is the greatest proof that the leader's leadership over the Kurds continues and that the terrorist label against him and the Kurds is rejected. There is no legal or political justification for the continued detention of leader Abdullah Öcalan to this day, and therefore his continued detention is unjust."   The women's paradigm   Fernaz Attia states that Abdullah Öcalan advocates for women's liberation within a partnership framework, aiming for a balanced society. She adds, he encouraged the economic empowerment of women through the elimination of economic subjugation and exploitation, their political empowerment through participation in the country's administration alongside men, and their social empowerment through the elimination of the patriarchal system that places women under male guardianship and diminishes their status. She also called for an end to the patriarchal mindset prevalent in Middle Eastern societies and defended women's right to self-defense. Between 1993 and 1997, she established the field of “jineology” (women's science) or women's sociology, which analyzes the relationship between the sexes. These ideas have been successfully implemented in the ‘Self-Administration’ model in northeastern Syria," she stated.   'It changed my outlook on life'   Dr. Fernaz Attia said she wanted to send Abdullah Öcalan the following message: "Your ideas about struggle and resistance changed my outlook on life. You showed me that a person must have a higher and nobler goal than the noise of life that surrounds them, distorts their thoughts, and distances them from reality. Every fighter's just cause is the ultimate goal, and no matter how much sacrifice is made, there should never be any hesitation in reaching and achieving that goal. I learned from you that a true warrior never ceases to support the weak and oppressed, whose rights, power, and bodies are swallowed up by the capitalist imperialism embraced by the West, oppressed by Western colonialism.   His ideas transcended space, time, and borders   A philosopher-leader must be internationalist; his thinking should not be limited to a particular people or region, but rather his liberating ideas should encompass all peoples. Because the struggle is a complete and comprehensive process. Your ideas and proposals on the Kurdish question and the democratic nation have transcended spatial and temporal boundaries, offering countless solutions to the problems faced by the Arab world, the Middle East, and even all the peoples of the world. Unlike the false Western democracy imposed on us, which is unsuitable for us and our societies and whose painful consequences we have been forced to endure, you have created a unique model of true democracy that is compatible with the values and traditions of the East.   I learned from you that freedom cannot be relinquished   I also learned from you the importance of work, its sacred duty, and its indispensable role in ensuring freedom and progress. Focusing on productive work that serves society, contributes to self-improvement, and builds capacity is crucial. As a woman, when I learned that ‘a beautiful woman is a free woman’ and that the enslavement of women is a yoke imposed on them by the reactionary patriarchal structure and opportunistic capitalism, I began to take pride in the pride and self-confidence your ideas about women inspired in me.   Injustice must end, you must be free   Injustice must end, and you must enjoy your freedom. Your peace initiative proved your victory over the evil forces that formed an alliance against you and the Kurdish cause. Now it is their turn to prove to the whole world that they cannot suppress your ideas and destroy the Kurdish cause.    Abdullah Öcalan's successes, the conspirators' failures   Addressing the countries involved in the international conspiracy, Fernaz Attia said: "The countries that conspire should reconsider their plans to trap figures like Öcalan, as all their conspiracies have ended in disastrous failure. The greatest proof of this is that the Kurds welcomed and implemented Öcalan's peace initiative, extended the white hand of peace to Turkey, emphasized brotherhood, and initiated a new era based on peace, coexistence, and construction. However, Turkey, on the other hand, is still slow to recognize the rights of Kurds in the country and to make constitutional changes that would guarantee the rights of Turkish Kurds. Similarly, it has not taken any steps regarding the rights of Kurds abroad, such as leaving Kurdish territories in Syria like Afrin. This confirms the victory of the Kurdish side led by Öcalan, who has proven his good intentions and real achievements on the path to peace, and the failure of these forces.    Abdullah Öcalan's successes, the conspirators' failures   Addressing the countries involved in the international conspiracy, Fernaz Attia said: "The countries that conspire should reconsider their plans to trap figures like Öcalan, as all their conspiracies have ended in disastrous failure. If, after 27 years, various geopolitical actors have concluded that it is impossible to develop a peace strategy without Öcalan, then this serious conflict could have been resolved 27 years ago through diplomacy and dialogue, and the lives and fates of thousands of people could have been saved. I cannot judge the failure or success of the plot because I see the Kurdish issue and ethnic-political conflict as a great human tragedy that could have been completely prevented," she said.   'Calling humanity to a rational solution'   Tatyana Odintsova from Russia drew attention to Abdullah Öcalan's latest messages, saying, "In his latest message from Imrali, he emphasized, ‘I am not the Messiah.’ However, in my opinion, this message calls on people to take responsibility for the future into their own hands and seek a rational solution. I believe that the future of Kurdish culture, language, and identity generally depends on the consciousness of the people, of each Kurd. This is not only the responsibility of Öcalan or Kurdish political representatives. This is the duty of all living beings towards future generations. Your children embrace the traditions of their families, and you teach them. The survival of the Kurds as an ethnic group, as an integral part of humanity's cultural diversity, depends on the knowledge of your own culture that you pass on to them."   'The Kurds have left a deep and significant mark on human history'   Pointing to the international dimension of the Kurdish issue, Tatyana Odintsova said, "The Kurds have left a deep and significant mark on human cultural history. Most of us read the poems of medieval Kurdish poets in school. Most of us know Saladin. Most of us admire the oriental arts pioneered by the Kurds. Kurdish restaurants can be found in many countries around the world, and you probably love Kurdish cuisine too. The Kurdish spirit is present in our daily lives, even if you have never met a Kurd personally. Kurds are kind, talented, hardworking, generous, and wonderful people. The Kurds have fought on the side of good in all world wars, including the fight against Hitler's fascism. Today, the Kurds have saved the world from ISIS, and the fight against terrorism is not over yet. We must remember this and respect the heroism of this people."
