ISTANBUL - Stating that social peace cannot be realised unilaterally, Peace Mother Sabiha Bozan said that the government should take sincere steps. Sabiha Bozan said, "We need a peace that is permanent, without deception and based on the truth. Peace cannot be achieved by deceiving, attacking and slaughtering."

The Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) İmralı Delegation held meetings with PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan in İmralı F Type High Security Closed Prison on 28 December and 22 January. After the meeting, the DEM Party İmralı Delegation shared the messages given by PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan with the public. The echoes of the talks with PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan continue. Among the most debated issues by the public is whether a democratic ground will be formed within the scope of this important agenda and whether peace will be achieved.

Sabiha Bozan, Mother of Peace, spoke about the achievement of social peace, her demands and suggestions

Stating that the Mothers of Peace Initiative has been demanding peace for years, Sabiha Bozan said that they have been persistent in their struggle for years and that they will continue to demand peace with the same determination today.  However, Sabiha Bozan stated that they could not get the reward for this struggle and said, "It seems that this state has not embraced peace well or it does not come to their account. We have also made a promise for peace. We will continue our struggle for peace until the last breath of our lives. Peace is a very sacred demand. Peace is very important for human life, for nature, for humanity and for everything. We have been following for months, there are rumours that there will be peace.  The road to peace should not be like this. On the one hand, Devlet Bahçeli says about Önderlik: ‘Let him come and speak in the parliament, we will create the grounds for peace, no more war.’ But on the other hand, we see that there is still an ongoing isolation on Önderlik, there is still an isolation on prisoners.  How can there be freedom and peace without lifting the isolation, without releasing him from prison? There are conditions and circumstances for peace. They need to ensure the conditions of Mr Abdullah Öcalan and pave the way for him. His family, lawyers and political parties should go and see him."

‘Everyone should take a hand under the stone’

‘On the one hand they shake hands and on the other hand they continue their attacks against Kurds,’ said Sabiha Bozan and reminded Turkey's attacks on Rojava. Sabiha Bozan said, "They massacre civilians every day. The problems of the peoples in Syria are getting worse and worse. All the peoples there should establish their own assemblies and solve their own problems. They need to solve all their problems themselves. Turkey should not interfere in this. It should not intervene in Syria. On the one hand, Turkey is sending gangs to Syria, on the other hand it is raining bombs. In such a process, the foundations of peace cannot be laid under these conditions and with this method. We, the Mothers of Peace, are also calling out to the state; we want peace on a proper basis. Peace cannot be achieved by deceiving, attacking and killing. We need a lasting peace, a peace without deception, a peace based on the truth. The isolation, which is also our demand, must end and political prisoners must be released. There is still no message or call from the President. He hasn't said a single thing. We need to be honest with each other. We need to be serious for peace. There is not a peep from the CHP. Everyone who remains silent about these massacres is guilty. For this reason, everyone needs to put their hands under the stone."

‘Peace cannot be realised unilaterally’

Reminding that peace will not be realised unilaterally, Sabiha Bozan finally drew attention to the following points: "For years we mums have been shouting for peace, peace, peace. No one has listened to us.  Let them listen to us for once, what we mothers want. Mothers understand the problems of mothers. When a mother's child is murdered, only a mother understands this.  Therefore, we need a ground of seriousness. We have been deceived too much over the years. They came up with an order based on lies and deception. We are now saying that we no longer accept such things. A free and equal peace is a must not only for the Kurdish people but for everyone. We want a peace based on rights, law and justice."
