ANKARA- The İmralı delegation that will meet with AKP leader and President Tayyip Erdoğan has left the parliament. Making a short statement, the delegation said, "Let it be instrumental in taking steps quickly. It will be a very important meeting."

The Imrali delegation of the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) and AKP President and President Tayyip Erdoğan left the parliament for the meeting to be held at 13.30 at the Complex in Beştepe.

The last time Tayyip Erdoğan met with Kurdish political representatives during his last term as prime minister was on 12 June 2012 with Selahattin Demirtaş and Gültan Kışanak, then co-chairs of the Peace and Democracy Party, at the Prime Minister's Office. Today, 13 years later, DEM Party MPs Sırrı Süreyya Önder and Pervin Buldan are making the first contact.

Making a short evaluation here, Sırrı Süreyya Önder said, "We will inform him about the process. We believe that the field of democratic politics will continue with much more rapid and qualified steps. We believe this.  We have brought the process to this point with a great will and determination. We are grateful for this." Pervin Buldan said, "I would like to express that it is an important meeting, we have held many meetings so far. Today we will have a meeting with Mr President. I would like to underline that it is important. Because perhaps for the first time he will exchange views with us on this issue and we will inform him. Good luck to all of us and good luck to the peoples of Turkey."
