MANİSA - The reports say five prisoners exiled to Manisa T-type Closed Prison from Bolu T-type Prison last week have been subjected to torture since then. The prosecutor allegedly said “Of course you will face torture, it is quite normal,” to the prisoners, who got a report confirming that they were subjected to torture.
The policies and pressures that have been put into practice in prisons increase day by day. The resistance of prisoners against exile, torture, ‘one-type uniform’ and rights violations in prisons is going on. Last week five political prisoners were exiled to Manisa T-type Closed Prison from Bolu T-type Prison. The prisoners’ families report that the five prisoners have been subjected to torture since they were exiled.
They have been exiled to a prison having no political prisoners
The prisoners called their families and told them they did not eat properly and they were held in cells. The prisoners also said that they have been exiled to the prison having no political prisoners just for torture, and they have been subjected to both psychological and physical torture.
‘Torture is normal, what do you expect’
The five prisoners told their families they got a report confirming they had been subjected to torture and they would file a criminal complaint. The prisoners told their families that the prosecutor had told them, “The torture you facing is quite normal, what do you expect?” Families of the prisoners called on the public to stand by the prisoners.
